Cooking 101
This is a simple introduction to the basics of cooking with. Fun is the key word here as your team will be able to bond through cooking together to create a wonderful meal. We will cover chopping, mincing, cutting an onion and using fresh herbs to enhance the flavor of your dish. The groups will be split up in courses so each team will be responsible for the completion of their course. A five course meal will be enjoyed by all at the end of the event.
Iron Chef Competitions
The menu will be divided between entrée, side dishes and dessert and the teams will be competing for the best dish while having a clock to watch while they are making their course. The staff will assist and rate the teams’ ability to work together within a specific time frame to accomplish their goal. This is a great event for people to get to know each other and break the ice.
Martini and Appetizer Evenings
We will be making a variety of appetizers with a professional bartender in the house. Each group will prepare two appetizers and will learn to make a different type of martini. This is a more social event with a cocktail party at the end to enjoy.
One Ingredient Challenge
For the competitor in all of us food is a great way to show off your skills and compete for the top prize which will be chosen by the team leader. We will have an hour to complete your course with the same ingredients provided for each group. Creative and inspired chefs will take the lead as each group presents their dish. Teams will be judged on working together smoothly, taste and presentation and speed of completing their dish. The remaining part of the meal will be prepared by our staff.
Ongoing team building and Wellness program classes are also available. These are hands-on classes are a part of a 4 week series. We meet on site in your company cafeteria or kitchen once a week. The purpose of this series is to build culinary skills and learn more in depth how to put a meal together with the focus on health and wellness.
Amanda has been teaching these hands-on classes at Guess Incorporated for three years. Their very popular Wellness program enrolls employees who are interested in learning about a healthier lifestyle. The series includes tips on shopping for food, preparing meals ahead, cooking with fresh herbs and reducing the fat in your meals. The program can be set up in any cafeteria kitchen with equipment that is purchased once in the beginning of the series.
Her proven Wellness program teaches your employees how
to cook easy, healthy, delicious meals that they can prepare
in 30 minutes or less. With our health system in crisis,
corporate America is interested in finding out how to teach
their employees how to eat healthier. Amanda comes with all the ingredients and an assistant to facilitate the preparation of the meal, set up and clean up. All the equipment is then stored for future classes. Most series accommodate twelve students and payroll deductions contribute to the fee for the class.
The prices for these classes will be determined by a
consultation with Chef Amanda.
